The S-type load cell, named after its S-shaped steel body, measures both pulling (tension) and pushing (compression) forces. Threaded holes at the top and bottom make it easy to hang a load from it or to fit it between two parts of a machine.
In Nigeria S-type cells are widely used in bagging and filling machines, suspended hoppers and small tanks, crane and hanging scales, concrete and feed batching equipment, and test rigs. They are also a common replacement part when an existing machine scale stops reading correctly.
For accurate suspended weighing, the cell should be fitted with rod-end or eye-bolt hardware so that the load hangs straight. We can supply the cell alone, with mounting hardware, or with an indicator, and our technicians can install and calibrate it on your machine.
