An in-motion axle weighbridge is a short, fixed weighing platform, usually 3 to 4 metres long, that weighs a vehicle one axle at a time as it drives slowly across. The indicator records every axle load and adds them up to give the gross vehicle weight, so long trailers can be checked without a full-length weighbridge.
In Nigeria it is used for overload control at cement plants, quarries, ports, oil and gas depots and haulage yards, and by road agencies at checkpoints. It helps operators stay within axle load limits, protect roads and their own trucks, and spot overloaded vehicles before they leave the gate.
In-motion axle weighing is designed for checking and enforcement; it is less accurate than static weighing on a full-length weighbridge and is not normally used for buying and selling by weight. We supply the platform, load cells, indicator and cabling, build or specify the foundation, install, calibrate and train your operators.
We install axle scales in Lagos and across all 36 states and the FCT. Contact us with your traffic volume and axle limits for a quote.
