The aggregate weigh hopper is the scale at the heart of a concrete batching plant. Sand and stone from the storage bins drop into a fabricated steel hopper that hangs from, or sits on, three or four load cells; the controller weighs each material to its recipe target and then opens the discharge gate to the skip, belt or mixer.
